Cat Face Killer “Rawhide” — Classic Tee | Jeffery Page & Friends
Rawhide is Cat Face Killer’s 1987 7-inch — the record that took one of the most iconic themes in American Western mythology and did to it exactly what CFK does to everything: used it as a foundation, then built something on top of it that the original never saw coming.
The American Western is one of the deepest mythological pools in the national imagination — cowboys, outlaws, wide open spaces, a moral universe that operates outside the law because the law was never designed for the people living in it. Sound familiar? Cat Face Killer has been living in that same moral universe since 1984, except the horses are replaced by synthesizers and the wide open spaces are underground venues in LA and Detroit that don’t technically exist anymore.
