We All Have Dreams

We all dreams however are these dreams really achievable, a reality or even beneficial to ourself or others around us. Over the the last decade I’ve watched this abundance of Dreamers dream a dream that is solely based on narcissism and selfish biased reasons. It’s like a snowball that rolled into an avalanche. It really truly seemed to start rolling dramatically in 2016. At the height of a “YOLO” generation of people who abandoned loved ones and the concept of we the people for the idea of me and my followers the Sheeple. Influencers and those who became self absorbed with idea of fame and wealth looked more like a horrible winter’s storm blanketing this world with traits of cult leaders offering plagiarized views and algorithm secrets. In this frenzy of this popularity craze they were rewarded with tidbits of drug inspired responses like dopamine which also bred followers who jumped on this band wagon to become addicted to these ideas as well. At one time this response was associated with only food, exercise , sex, gambling, drugs and now it’s so ever present in this ever so ruling world of social media which technically now is being ran by computers that are dictating our future. Although with the rewards of feeling good from the dopamine response it has obviously has caused the same behaviors of people who have addiction problems. I mean how can you make anyone see that even if they are feeling good about their decisions now, how can anyone else be right. As this certainly increased as the isolation and lack of self control rose over political, cultural and pandemic rabbit holes that have been created in this tunnel vision and echo chamber that is created. I mean let’s face it we’ve all dealt with someone who may have had a few too many drinks which resembles the same type of incoherent behavior. I know I have. However, it is important to understand that these ideas are completely obscene and in all reality delusional. I never thought this nerd would be so ashamed as I see this addiction grow from something I truly thought would be beneficial to the world as I have been on social media/networking platforms from day one like AOL chat rooms, Live journal, Friendster, Myspace, Facebook, Instagram including Tik Tok. Although I guess Stan Lee said it best "With great power comes great responsibility" an ancient adage, at least as old as the fourth century BC in the allusion of the Sword of Damocles. I loved being able to be able to share with fellow nerds, introverts and intellectuals at the beginning that plugged in for knowledge and escapism in this new world as we explored together looking how this information benefitted one another. Whether it was finding information, sharing music or even just checking out for hours exploring the web. The difference between the part I sound ancient by saying back in my day, in the beginning we were sharing out of compassion and education not out of the idea of fame and fortune. Technically we already saw the misfortune of the music industry who at one time suffered huge repercussions from signing band on myspace only because they had huge followings on-line. That did not pay off very well as it truly hurt that industry for quite awhile. Then again what do I know as I watch these egos tell me I am wrong and I have people tell me you just are not using these apps right. Sure it’s true. I don’t use the apps as they want me to. I have seen the power of the internet. I also have seen the destruction of addictions. However, the truth is I’ve grown up around addicts my whole life and the internet longer than most of you even have had a smart phone. I have seen how it has changed others around me as the dopamine response feeds them like a dealer to a junkie. Overall I have seen a dreamland I used to dive in for escapism turn into a world where people believe it’s a reality. Although even as I still love this world called the internet I do realize that everyone is currently living in a dream in their own personal universe which is hazy like being in a crack den. I’m not saying I am right just saying most of the world is addicted to self loathing addictive traits caused by the dopamine response. If you can’t unplug or even accept this observation as yours truly as I truly am an empath who cares I unfortunately have to say you are in denial. You may call me crazy and I can accept that. However, I believe this world has proven to me that we are crazy especially if living in a dream state ruled by computers it truly real. If you want to say it is. Then go feel the warmth of the sun from a .mpeg , smell a flower from a .jpeg, exercise with a .gif, hang an NFT in a museum and buy something you really want with crypto currency. As we all have dreams. Unfortunately I believe the differences of a having a dream in reality is that you understand that part of waking up.

Just an excerpt of how I see the world from my view today.

We all have Dreams that help us be better for ourself. Yet is it still a dream when the dreams we create don’t include the benefits for anyone else?

Be careful as all nightmares start as dreams.
