ADHD-Friendly Recipe: Green Power Smoothie
Let’s get those neurons firing with a super green smoothie that helps with attention and clarity. It’s loaded with leafy greens and healthy fats that feed your brain the good stuff it craves.
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup spinach (folate + iron = brain boost)
½ avocado (healthy fats galore)
1 tbsp chia seeds (omega-3s!)
½ banana (natural sweetness + potassium)
Handful of ice
Optional: 1 scoop of plant-based protein powder
Directions:
Blend until smooth. That’s it! Sip it slowly and let the nutrients get to work on your focus and mental energy.
Random Plant Fact: Gotu Kola – The Brain Herb
Used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) is known as “the herb of longevity.” It’s been linked to improved memory, reduced anxiety, and even better circulation. Some studies show it can support cognitive function, especially in individuals with attention issues. Add it to tea or smoothies (with caution and guidance if you’re new to it!).
California Fact: Death Valley’s Singing Sand Dunes
Yes, the sand sings! In Death Valley National Park, sand dunes can produce a low, eerie hum when the grains move under certain conditions. Scientists call this phenomenon “booming sand”—a natural desert soundtrack you never knew existed.
Neuroscience Nugget: The Dopamine Connection
People with ADHD often have lower levels of dopamine—a neurotransmitter that plays a big role in motivation, reward, and attention. That’s why routines that naturally boost dopamine (like exercise, healthy eating, and music) can really make a difference in day-to-day focus.
Coffee Recommendation: Iced Matcha Latte with Coconut Milk
Need a caffeine kick without the crash? Matcha is rich in L-theanine, which balances the buzz and supports calm focus. Blend matcha with coconut milk and ice for a tropical twist on a green classic.
Los Angeles Fun Fact: The Original Name Was “El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles”
Yep, Los Angeles started with a mouthful of a name in 1781. It translates to “The Town of Our Lady the Queen of Angels.” Now you know why we just call it L.A.!
I love the ideas of all animals and creatures. What do you think of all the ideas of unknown creatures?
Cryptid Corner: The Fresno Nightcrawler (California)
One of California’s very own cryptids, the Fresno Nightcrawler is… well, weird. First caught on a home surveillance camera, these creatures look like walking pants—seriously. Long, white, and lanky, they’ve been spotted only a couple of times, yet have sparked major interest. No arms, no visible face—just spooky stilts walking through the night. What are they? Aliens? Spirits? Pants with a purpose? We may never know.
Good morning, good afternoon and good night sincerely from your friend Me aka Jeffery
